MERCER COUNTY TO HOST FIRST ANNUAL BLUES FEST IN DOWNTOWN SHARON
Event Features Live Entertainment, Artist Market, 9/11 Tribute and More
MERCER COUNTY, PA. --September, 2010-- The Sharon Art & Music Initiative will showcase the First Annual Blues Fest in downtown Sharon, Pa. on September 11. The festival will run from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and is located at the Chamber of Commerce parking lot and PNC Bank parking lot.
The Blues Fest will begin with a tribute ceremony led by Representative Mark Longietti to honor those who lost their lives in the World Trade Center terrorist attack in 2001.
Throughout the day, there will be live concerts and entertainment featured on a side stage and main stage. Performers include Grammy and Handy nominated artist John Primer, the Westminster College Facility Jazz Quartet, Sweaty Betty Blues Band, Muddy Kreek Blues Band, Terry Dach/Steve Vuich, Gordon James Band, Cleveland Fats, Jill West and Blues Attack, F/X Project and the Max Schang Blues Band. There will also be an Artist Market until 7 p.m. featuring paintings, jewelry, pottery, woodworking and more.
Children’s activities will include face painting, an inflatable bouncer, fun crafts, story time readings and games. There will also be a regional puppeteer performance and more.
Parking is available at the original Quaker Steak & Lube® back lot, Sharon City Parking Garage, Sharon City Plaza and the First National Bank lot. Railroad Street and Chestnut Street will be closed surrounding the Chamber parking lot.
