MERCER COUNTY SHOWCASES HISTORY, ARTS, ENTERTAINMENT AND FOOD WITH FAMILY FUN FESTIVALS THIS JULY
PITTSBURGH, PA. --July 1, 2010-- Mercer County will celebrate its rich and diverse culture by showcasing history, arts, entertainment and food with a variety of festivals throughout July.
The Greenville Area Heritage Day will take place on July 3 beginning with a 5K race and walk starting at 9 a.m. Other activities include a classic car show at 2 p.m. with live entertainment and fireworks at 10 p.m. The festival’s events will take place at various downtown locations including Main Street, Greenville Riverside Park, The Waugh House, the Greenville Railroad Park Museum, Canal Museum, Greenville Airport and more. On July 16-18, Mercer, Pa. will host the 22nd Annual Victorian Weekend Festival. On Friday evening, there will be a Victorian concert and on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. activities will include a Grande Victorian Parade, arts and crafts, civil war re-enactment, carriage rides, children’s activities, courthouse tours and live music. On Sunday, there will be an auto and motorcycle show. The events will be held at Mercer’s Historic Courthouse. For more information, call (724) 662-4185.
The Hermitage Art Festival on July 17-18 will celebrate visual and performance art from local artists. Activities include the artist’s market place, art demonstrations, live music, car cruise, children’s activities and much more. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 12 Noon – 5 p.m. on Sunday. The event will be held on the grounds of the Hermitage Municipal Building located on North Hermitage Rd. On July 24-25, the Pymatuning Pioneer and Arts Festival will feature Civil War Encampments, Indian groups, food vendors, craft vendors and various demonstrations dating back to the pioneer era. The festival runs from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday. The event is located at Pymatuning State Park at 2660 Williamsfield Rd. in Jamestown Pa. Admission is $1.
