WINE FEST CELEBRATION AND SHARON CITY BLUES FESTIVAL PROVIDE ENTERTAINMENT IN FINAL DAYS OF SUMMER Celebrate with Music, Food and Drinks at Annual Festivals in Mercer County
MERCER COUNTY, Pa. – September 1, 2011 –End your summer on a high note with live entertainment and a host of other activities at two Mercer County festivals.
Listen to the sweet sounds of soulful blues at the Second Annual Sharon City Blues Festival as presented by The Sharon Art & Music Initiative on September 10 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The festival will take place at the Quaker Steak & LubeŽ festival grounds in Sharon, Pa. and will feature live concerts and entertainment. An outstanding group of artists will be performing on two separate stages. Headlining artist is Billy Price "East Coast Blue Eyed Soul Man." Other performers include Bill Miller Band, Miss Freddye & Blue Faze, The River Saints, Kids of the Blues, Terry Dach Band, Women of the Blues, Zydeco Kings, Max Schang Band featuring Rodger Montgomery and Eddie Shaw & the Wolf Gang. In addition to blues music, visitors can enjoy an artists' market, performing arts, a kid's area and local food vendors.
Enjoy wine tastings, tours, music and food at Wilhelm Winery's 12th Annual End of Summer Wine Fest Celebration on September 3-4. Doors open at 11 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. and festivities begin at 12 noon to 5 p.m. Activities will take place rain or shine, with musical groups Picks & Hammers and Dan Wilcox, photo display by wild-life photographer Terry Werneth, jewelry displays by J and D Jewelry and artwork by Janice Patton. Special pricing on wine for the weekend includes a 15 percent discount by the case and a 20 percent discount on three or more cases and will be available for sale in the building adjacent to the picnic area. The festival is free and is located at the main Wilhelm Winery store in Hadley, Pa.
